Emergency preparedness planning can feel overwhelming. This page contains resources to help you in your planning process.

Download the Planning Guide

The planning guide for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will help you prepare for most types of emergencies and disasters. View and download the planning guide.  We’ve provided additional resources below to assist you in filling out your planning guide.

Pueblo County Risk Assessment

Pueblo County conducts a risk assessment every few years to identify the most likely natural disasters to occur in the county. The risks identified in the 2022 assessment include:

  • Wildfire (highest risk) - find your risk
  • Severe Heat
  • Drought
  • Tumbleweeds
  • Dam/levee incident
  • Flood - find your risk
  • Hail
  • Thunderstorm/lightning
  • Severe wind
  • Tornado
  • Severe winter weather/severe cold
  • Landslide/debris flow/rock fall (Beulah)
  • Earthquake (low risk)
  • Pandemic
  • Animal disease outbreak

In addition, the Pueblo County response plan includes two additional man-made risks:

  • Hazardous materials release
  • Cyber attack

Review the full 2022 Pueblo County Risk assessment for more detail.

Pueblo Colorado Stake and Pueblo County Emergency Response Plans

The planning guide recommends reviewing local emergency response plans. This can help you coordinate your household emergency preparedness plans with local plans.

  • Review the Pueblo Colorado Stake emergency response plan.
  • Review the Pueblo County emergency response plan.

Special Needs

If a member of your household has mobility, transportation, medical, or other special needs, consider signing up for emergency evacuation assistance. Note: this should not replace 911 for immediate emergencies.
