Gardening

Why grow your own food?

There are many advantages to growing our own food.

  • Food security is improved by reducing reliance on the grocery store.
  • The process encourages physical activity and being outdoors is good for mental health.
  • Food grown at home tastes better and often results in healthier eating habits.
  • Growing food may result in reduced food costs over the long-term, depending on the knowledge, skill, and resourcefulness of the gardener.
